FAQs Q – What is iTunes? A – iTunes is free media-player software that runs on a Windows PC or a Macintosh. iTunes allows users to browse, play, download, and organize audio and video content. Q–What is iTunes U? A – iTunes U is a special feature in iTunes that allows colleges and universities to post educational audio and video content using a content management system based on iTunes. Q – Do I have to use iTunes and Apple products to have access to iTunes U? A – Currently, you must use the iTunes application to download content. However, you do not need a Macintosh, iTunes, or an iPod to play the audio files. All you will need is a player capable of playing .mp4 AAC (Advanced Audio Codec) files. (AAC is not exclusively Apple's, although Apple prefers it to alternative file formats.) For other system and file requirements, visit http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/. Q – Can I search/access AMU on iTunes U through the iTunes general Music Store? A – No. Currently, the only way you can access AMU on iTunes U is by visiting www.amuonline.com/itunes. Q – I tried to open iTunes U but was redirected to an iTunes Web site. What happened? A – This occurs when you try to open iTunes U but do not have iTunes installed. The page you were redirected to is the site from which you can download iTunes. You must download and install iTunes in order to use iTunes. Q – I’m having problems installing the iTunes applicaton. Where should I go for help? A – For iTunes support, visit http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/. Q – I downloaded a track but cannot find it in iTunes. Where is it? A – Downloaded tracks are added to your library called American Military University. To access downloaded audio files, click on Music on the left side of the iTunes window. Q – I want to distribute a URL to something specific in iTunes U. Can I link directly to this content? A – Yes. Everything in iTunes U (Welcome Pages, courses, shows, tracks, tabs) has its own URL. Just right-click (Mac users control-click) on any item you want to link to, and you will see a menu that says "Copy iTunes Store URL". Paste into your browser to view.
